Sometimes Dad = the best medicine!

Our poor little guy was sick with a cold earlier this week. The only positive thing that came out of it was that he was very cuddly. Shawn layed him on his lap and he just clung to his finger....sometimes when you're sick you just need your Dad.

We now have our happy little baby back!! We went to the doctor on Tuesday and he weighs 7 lbs 10 oz - we are getting there!! At least he doesn't seem to have a problem gaining weight. :)

Kallen finally decided that he likes bath time! Shawn is just itching to get him in the pool, so now that he knows that Kallen likes water I can only imagine that it is just a matter of time. I don't think he will get a choice as to whether or not he will be a swimmer. :P

What is sleep??

This shirt seems to describe perfectly how Kallen feels some days. It's like he just doesn't want to miss out on anything. I don't know how moms get anything done. I guess it is probably just something you learn to work with huh....

Kallen made a new friend today! His name is Mr. Tiger. They don't do to much, just sit around, eat, hang out, you know...guy stuff. He is just glad to finally have someone else his size around the house!

This is what happens when you send Daddy to the store to buy me some pants. (In his defense, the tag did say Newborn.)

Welcome Home Kallen

This is the sign that Aunt Stephanie made for us!

Finally arriving home Monday afternoon

He looks sooo tiny in his carseat

Snuggling with daddy!

Kallen did not like his first bath experience...this is something we will have to work on considering who his daddy is.

Our first family photo!

A very proud Uncle Jacob!! When asked if he had any advice for Kallen, Jake said "Even though you are little, you can still do big things."

Meet Kallen James DeBoef.
Tiffany was having contractions all day long on Friday so we headed to the hospital about 6:00pm. They had us in a triage room until 9:00 before we got our own room. Because of that Tiffany had to go through some pretty tough contractions without any medication. When they got us in our room they decided to rupture her bag of waters. That really made things happen fast and as a result Kallen's heart rate dropped pretty low. Because of the low heart rate they decided to do an emergency c-section. They put Tiffany out and because of that they wouldn't let me in the room to watch. Within a minute of putting her under they already had Kallen out. As soon as he had been delivered they let me in to see him. It took awhile for them to get Tiffany all stitched up and back to a coherent state. That was pretty stressful but fortunately family was here so I brought Kallen out for them to see which helped keep my mind preoccupied. When they finally got her to our room and she 'came to' she was pretty groggy the rest of the night but super excited to be a mom. We are very proud parents and are excited to show our little guy off to the world! Tiffany is doing well and we've been told that they're going to try getting her out of bed for the first time a little later this morning. We know that will be painful but it needs to happen sooner than later. We'll keep everyone updated.
Oh, I just realized I should include his stats, huh? He's a little guy - 6 lbs. 5 oz., 20 inches long. He's got our blue eyes and long eye lashes. I think he's super cute but I'll let you judge that for yourselves.

Doctors have no sympathy

Well, I headed in to my doctors appointment this morning thinking that they would for sure induce me or do something to speed things up....I should not have set myself up like that. After informing me that I am still only dialated to 2cm my doctor said that the best she can do is set up an appoinment to induce me next Thursday. I pray that this little baby will decide to come before then, but it seems to be pretty content where it is at. We already have a disobedient child (haha). I guess the positive side is that at least there is a for sure date which means the end is in sight! So if anyone is not busy in the next week, I will be either outside or at the mall walking/waddling as fast as I can to try to get this baby moving! Feel free to join me if you are wanting a little exercise!!
